The Norwid House is a modern villa on a hill on Norwida Street in Rabka-Zdrój. The client wanted the cars at the heart of the house: the garage is glazed towards the living area and puts them on display, and if need be they can be driven right into the living room.
The house has a horizontal layout, with wide terraces facing Babia Góra and glazing that slides open almost entirely. Inside there is a spa and a gym, outside a pool; upstairs, the bedrooms and a cinema and recreation space.
The volume is dark: a facade of wood charred using the Japanese shou sugi ban technique, with the roof and soffits in metal sheet. In the recesses of the volume and on the terraces, warm wood in its natural colour appears. We took the project to the technical and detailed design stage.
