FOLDING 01
The starting point is the simplest operation in origami: a sheet of paper broken by parallel folds, alternately up and down. A flat surface becomes a rhythmic, rigid structure that gains depth and strength without any material being added.
We transferred the physical model into Grasshopper as a parametric definition. The width of the sheet, the number of folds, the folding angle and the thickness of the material became sliders, and the geometry recalculates as we go: from a flat sheet to an almost entirely folded form.
The same model also generates the flat crease pattern, ready to be cut out and folded back into reality.
